Geological Skills

• Worked as a field geologist, did geological mapping along the seismic lines while ARCO was acquiring 2D seismic lines in SE Turkey in order to help geophysicist to make their interpretation in the Thrust Fold Zone.
• Interpreted all the former TPAO structure contour, isopach and facies maps in SE Turkey and helped the ARCO team to complete the interpretations for the licence applications.
• Worked as a well-site geologist for ARCO in SE Turkey and did QC work and operation geological duties when ARCO-TPAO joint venture drilled 42 onshore wells in SE Turkey and 2 offshore wells in the western Black Sea offshore.
• Carried out geology and geophysical interpretation with the ARCO exploration team for SE Turkey, Tuz Gölü, and Black Sea Basins and made recommendations for the licence applications.
• Completed extensive surface and subsurface exploration studies, mapping in the fold and thrust belt zones of SE Turkey. The efforts contributed significantly to the selection of six prospects for testing, and resulting in three discoveries with a total of 25 MM barrels of recoverable oil.
• Did all exploration coordination between ARCO, Turkish National Oil Company (TPAO) and Turkish General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs (GDPA) and other authorities.
• Did 500 well-to-well correlations and interpreted for all subsurface maps with the well data in the ARCO blocks in SE Turkey and helped / recommended the pitfalls of the drillable location area, in 7 exploration licenses.
• Attended all the monthly scout meetings in the country and pass the information to ARCO and informed them all the other competitors’ activities in the area.
• Extensively helped ARCO during the discovery 3 fields and their developments in SE Turkey by the TPAO-ARCO Joint Venture and recommended to make matrix porosity map for limestone vs. dolomites (for the Cendere Field, SE Turkey) and recommended to drill several wells in the dolomitic section and those wells produced better result than the limestone area wells.
• Coordinated and participated extensive geology field work programs, including geology field trips along the Black Sea coast line in preparation for decisions on the deep water exploration wells.
• Worked on surface geology field mapping, field work and did subsurface studies to evaluate prospective areas in the Tuz Golu Basin in central Turkey.
• Organized and led all the field trips for SE Turkey, Tuz Golu; Thrace, Zonguldak, Eastern Black Sea and Antalya Basins in Turkey and heavy involved all the geological & geophysical interpretation work with rest of the ARCO team in Plano, TX, USA and in Ankara, Turkey.
• Gathered and evaluated geological and geophysical and well data from the General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs open file archives for the Eastern Black Sea offshore farm-out licenses for Hunt Oil, Anadarko offered by TPAO.
• Screened 75 well data from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea offshore licenses and in Adana-Iskenderun Basin. Organized and led several field trips for the El Paso-TPAO joint venture team. Did all the exploration coordination when the joint venture drilled 3 offshore wells in the basin. Made several trips to the platform and worked as QC at the well site.
• Organized and led geological field trips to the Thrace Basin for El Paso. Recommend delineating a gas field and suggested hydro fracturing jobs for the abandoned gas field of the Miocene-Oligocene sandstone reservoir in the Thrace Basin, Turkey for El Paso.
• Was an operation geologist for the Frontera Resources–Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC)-Georgian National Oil Company Joint Venture Project in the Taribani Oil Field, in the Kura Basin, Eastern Georgia. Interfaced with CNPC (operator) and coordinated the well-site work for Frontera Resources during the drilling of the Dino-2 exploration well.
• Did extensive data gathering and geology and geophysics information and technical correlation for their possible joint ventures and heavy oil interests and exploration opportunities in SE Turkey with TPAO for Exall Resources Limited, Canada.
• Provided geological and geophysical services for Noble Energy data gathering, evaluated geological, geophysical and well data from the General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs open file archive for the Eastern Black Sea offshore farm out licenses offered by TPAO. Also evaluated a project for the possible hydro-fracture job in the tight Thrace Basin Gas field for the company.
• Did asset evaluations of Amity Oil Company’s three gas field sale for Zorlu Energy in the Thrace Basin, Turkey.
• Did Petroleum Consulting for Transatlantic Petroleum helping them to invest in oil & gas prospects. Prepared exploration license applications in Turkey and provide and helped in evaluating geological and geophysical data.
